It was a moment of madness for Riot Games as they had to disable one of their champions due to an extremely game-breaking bug, the bug was so bad it was deciding matches. At the time of writing, Rumble is back on the live servers, but there was a moment of panic for Riot Games who had to figure out how Rumble was causing such a game-breaking bug.
It all came about when League of Legends content creator Vandiril posted a video to his YouTube channel showcasing a game-breaking bug that allowed Rumble to spawn infinite Rift Heralds, meaning a few charges into the turrets and they were at the base taking the nexus. It essentially went like this, if Rumble had the Rift Herald icon in their inventory, if they summon it while having a yellow energy bar, you would have another Rift Herald in the inventory.
As you can see from the image above, there are multiple Rift Heralds, and as you will already know, Rift Heralds do a substantial amount of damage to the turrets when they are able to charge at them. And when there's over 10 Rift Heralds charging at your base, you're going to lose the game rather quickly due to their tanky health. This caused Riot to react, making Rumble disabled from the League of Legends game altogether until they could find a solution to the problem.
According to League of Legends stats site LoLalytics, Rumbles win percentage sky rocketed from just over 50% to 53.73% in just a few days, meaning their reasoning for disabling the Yordle in the top lane was justified. Riot assured players this champion would return when the serious vulnerability had been dealt with. At the time of writing this article on January 28, Rumble is available once again to be played in all modes in League of Legends.
