The Legend of Zelda Live-Action Movie release date

Nintendo has finally revealed the official release date for the long awaited live-action version of The Legend of Zelda. After months of waiting since the surprising announcement back in November 2023, the company confirmed that Wes Ball’s directed film will be released in theatres on March 226, 2027.

Unlike the usual social media blitz surrounding blockbuster announcements, Nintendo did things quite differently. The date was discreetly announced through their new Nintendo Today app - a calendar app created to consolidate everything Nintendo, including concept art and announcements. The app is designed to be a daily update portal for fans.

This announcement comes right after Nintendo's last Direct presentation that is presumed to be the final one solely focusing on the Switch model. With the much anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 set to launch next week, Nintendo Today feels like a new chapter as the tech giant revamps its communication strategy.

Nintendo's abilities to build suspense and deliver unseen surprises remains unbeaten. It might seem outlandish to make such a heavy announcement via an app, but it shows how much faith the company has on their base to support them.

While the countdown to The Legend of Zelda movie begins, fans are sure to get more updates through Nintendo Today or other official outlets. Save the date March 26, 2027 because Hyrule is making its way to the silver screen.
