Disney and Epic Games are taking their collaboration to the next level with the launch of Fortnite: Galactic Battle, a massive Star Wars-themed season that begins May 2, 2025, just in time for Star Wars Day. As part of this event, players will be able to watch the first two episodes of Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld inside a specially-designed Star Wars Watch Party Island in Fortnite, days before the show drops on Disney+.

This marks a major first for both companies: a Disney+ series premiering inside a game. The animated anthology series, helmed by Dave Filoni, dives into the criminal underworld of the Star Wars galaxy, offering gritty stories away from the Jedi and Sith spotlight.

But this is more than just a screening event. Players will be able to fight enemies on the island while watching the episodes, blending cinematic storytelling with Fortnite’s signature action gameplay. It's the clearest signal yet of where Disney and Epic are headed, with plans to build an entirely new Disney-themed in-game universe already in the works following Disney’s $1.5 billion investment in Epic Games.

Epic and Disney Account Linking Begins

Starting with the Galactic Battle season, Fortnite players can link their Epic Games and MyDisney accounts. This paves the way for future cross-platform experiences and unlocks a free exclusive Stormtrooper skin for linked users.

A Galaxy-Scale Crossover Future

This isn’t the first time Star Wars and Fortnite have crossed paths. From Rey and Kylo Ren skins to exclusive movie clips like The Rise of Skywalker reveal in 2019, the relationship has been building for years. But this is by far the most ambitious crossover yet, signaling a shift in how games and entertainment media merge.

With Tales of the Underworld premiering early inside Fortnite, exclusive content drops, and a galaxy’s worth of playable characters likely to follow, May the 4th has never looked more interactive.
