The Korean action game Stellar Blade from developer Shift Up has reached a major milestone — over 3 million copies sold across PlayStation 5 and PC. This is a significant achievement for the studio’s debut console title and marks a major step forward for the Korean gaming industry as a whole.
Sales on PS5 and PC
The game launched on PS5 on April 26, 2024, and sold over a million copies within just a few weeks. The PC version, released on June 11, 2025, added another million in its first three days. Combined, these numbers allowed the game to quickly surpass the 3 million mark.

The PC version, released this month, ranked first in the global Steam sales chart on launch day and surpassed 180,000 concurrent players. This highlights the strong demand and interest in the game across platforms and regions.
Stellar Blade has become the best-selling Korean single-player console game. This is an exceptional result considering the competitive market and limited physical distribution in certain regions, including Japan, where the game faced restrictions due to supply shortages.

Players have praised the game for its dynamic gameplay, spectacular combat, and visual design. In many discussions, it’s described not only as beautiful but also genuinely engaging and well-crafted. The PC version, in particular, impressed audiences by achieving in a few days what the PS5 version reached over several months.

Future Plans
Shift Up has already confirmed that it is working on downloadable content (DLC) for the game, as well as a full sequel. Following the successful launch and the company’s IPO, the studio is also planning a major expansion and new projects in the sci-fi genre.

Stellar Blade stands as a clear example of how a new studio with strong ambitions can achieve global success. Over 3 million copies sold in such a short time is a strong testament to the global interest in the game. Shift Up is already preparing new titles, and Stellar Blade is firmly establishing itself as a new franchise.
