Continuation of the Resident Evil 7 and 8 Storyline

According to the sources, Resident Evil 9 will take place four years after the events of Resident Evil Village. Jill Valentine and Leon S. Kennedy, iconic characters of the series, are likely to play leading roles in this installment. The return of other fan favorites, including Chris Redfield and Barry Burton, is also expected, who will support Jill and Leon via radio communication.

Jill will receive tactical gear reminiscent of her look from Resident Evil 5: Lost in Nightmares, while Leon’s style will be similar to his appearance in Resident Evil: Damnation. Although Jill looks unchanged since the time of Resident Evil: Death Island, Leon is depicted noticeably older.

Plot Details of Resident Evil 9

The storyline focuses on Jill with BSAA and Leon with DSO investigating an island where the company responsible for creating Eveline (bioweapon in Resident Evil 7) conducted its research. This sinister organization is allegedly creating clones of Eveline using the megamycete — an organism central to the events of Resident Evil 7 and Village.

Chris and Barry will be supporting Jill and Leon from a distance, and at some point, Rosemary Winters, a key character from Resident Evil Village, will be mentioned.
