In Black Ops 7, all cosmetic and weapon progress from Black Ops 6 will be wiped. Operators, skins, and guns will not carry over, as the developers aim to maintain a cleaner atmosphere for the new game and avoid overwhelming customization.
The one exception
Amid the complete reset, one important detail stands out. In BO7, Double XP Tokens and GobbleGums will be preserved. These items will be available right from launch, allowing players to use their accumulated bonuses immediately for faster leveling and in Zombies mode. This is the hidden meaning behind the intriguing headline — “But There’s One Thing You Keep.”

Fighting cheaters with RICOCHET
The developers have also strengthened their focus on fair play. In Black Ops 7, the RICOCHET anti-cheat system will receive expanded features: it will detect offenders more quickly, punish cheaters more severely, and deploy new real-time protection methods. Treyarch promises that Ranked matches and Warzone will become significantly cleaner and safer.

Player feedback and future updates
The developers noted that they are listening to community feedback and striving for better balance in the core Call of Duty experience. In the coming weeks, Treyarch will share more details about the game.

In multiplayer, players can expect additional information about maps, weapons, systems, improved movement, and new approaches to dynamic gameplay. The Zombies mode will receive content even before launch, including a new Wonder-vehicle, the return of the original Dark Aether-style crew, and a unique way to reward hardcore fans.
Progression and rewards
Black Ops 7 will, for the first time, allow players to earn XP and weapon progression across all modes Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies. The classic Prestige system returns along with a new weapon prestige. From Season One, there will be weekly challenges, more ways to unlock camos and other rewards, plus expanded in-game content.

Call of Duty: NEXT and the Beta
Players can already mark down the key dates. Call of Duty: NEXT takes place on September 30, showcasing the full multiplayer reveal. The early access beta begins on October 2, while the open beta for all players across all platforms will run from October 5–8.
Black Ops 7 wipes all cosmetics and weapons from the previous entry but preserves valuable progression items Double XP and GobbleGums. Combined with the enhanced RICOCHET system, this gives players a fresh start where loyal fans of the series have the advantage, while cheaters are left with no place to hide.
