Konami and Bloober to follow Silent Hill 2 remake with brand new game

Fresh off the success of Silent Hill 2 Remake, Konami and Bloober Team have announced a new collaboration. However, while many fans might assume another Silent Hill installment is on the way, the new project is confirmed only to be “based on Konami’s IP” without explicitly stating that it will be part of the Silent Hill franchise.

According to Bloober Team’s official statement, the “trust built upon the success of Silent Hill 2 laid the foundation” for this new partnership. The company emphasized that this deal aligns with its long-term strategy to expand internal development within a first-party framework.

Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating: “Our collaboration with Konami has been incredibly fruitful, and the success of Silent Hill 2 speaks for itself. By sharing knowledge and experience, we have been able to create high-quality productions together.”

Babieno remained tight-lipped about specifics but assured fans that something special is on the horizon. “Of course, we can’t reveal too many details at this time, but we are confident that fans will be just as excited about our collaboration as we are. We can’t wait to share something truly special with players when the time is right.”

Konami has confirmed that it will remain both the publisher and rights holder of the upcoming game, but beyond that, details remain scarce. With Konami's extensive catalog of IPs, including Castlevania, Metal Gear, and *Silent Hill, *the project could go in multiple directions.

Meanwhile, Bloober Team is also working on Cronos: The New Dawn, a survival horror game set in an alternate-history 1980s Communist Poland ravaged by a mysterious plague. That title is expected to launch later this year for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

As for the new Konami-Bloober project, speculation will undoubtedly run wild until more concrete details emerge. Whether it’s another Silent Hill entry or a fresh take on a different beloved IP, fans will have to wait for further announcements. Stay tuned for updates as this story develops.
