According to trusted insider Dusk Golem, Resident Evil 9 is nearing completion and will be officially revealed sometime this year. The two most likely announcement windows are the June Summer Game Fest or December’s The Game Awards.

Dusk Golem claims that Resident Evil 9 will be a “major reinvention” of the franchise—similar to the impact Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 7 had on the series. Players can expect a fresh gameplay style and ambitious changes that set this entry apart from past titles.
