If you're gunning for that full garage of sweet rides in Mario Kart World, you'll need coins and lots of them. With 40 unique vehicles and dozens of stickers to unlock, coins are your golden ticket. Sure, you could collect them the slow way through races and battles... but why not get rich fast?
The most effective method for farming coins is to find and follow a red car that features a wind-up key on top and a question mark symbol resembling a ? Block on its window. This vehicle drops one coin every second, and each coin remains on the track for ten seconds. The car releases coins in a zig-zag pattern behind it, allowing you to gently swerve left and right to collect them all with ease. Although this red car is rare, it has been spotted in high-traffic areas such as Crown City, DK Spaceport, Toad’s Factory, and Choco Mountain. Following it consistently can net you 3,000 coins in less than an hour, making it by far the most efficient coin farming method in the game.
Throughout Free Roam mode, you’ll often find regular cars and jet skis that have two or three coins behind them. These coins respawn after being collected, making them a steady source of income if you stick with the vehicle. The best technique here is to drive close enough to grab the coins, then ease off slightly to allow the next set to respawn before continuing the pattern. This method requires a bit more precision, as crashing into the vehicle will cause you to lose coins. Cars are more commonly found on highways, while jet skis can be seen in water bodies near the beaches.
Want to farm coins while grabbing a snack or watching Netflix? Head to Toad’s Factory.
AFK Farming Steps:
If you’re looking for a quick injection of coins, the giant coin stack near Boo Cinema is a great option. To find it, spawn into Boo Cinema and drive along the red carpet in the opposite direction of the Mario Kart banner. Look up to the left wall, and you’ll see the stack. Collecting it is fast and convenient due to its proximity to the spawn point. However, the catch is that the coin stack only reappears when you restart the game. While not ideal for long sessions, this method is perfect for quick farming bursts if you don’t mind restarting the game after each grab.
Whether you're grinding for speed demons like the Mach 8 or just want to flex all the sticker sets, coin farming is essential in Mario Kart World. Use these strategies to build your collection fast and dominate every track in style.
