Jujutsu Zero Ten Shadows Guide: Secret Ticket, Shikigami and Part 2 Progression

Ten Shadows is one of the more complex Cursed Techniques to fully upgrade in Jujutsu Zero. Unlocking the technique is only the beginning—you’ll also need to progress through Shadow Island, complete Shikigami mastery branches, use the Shikigami Altar, and eventually tackle the Part 2 upgrades tied to the Shadow Sorcerer/Megumi Raid.

Part 2 adds some of Ten Shadows’ strongest upgrades, including Max Elephant, Divine Dog: Totality, Shadow Chimera Garden, and greater control over Mahoraga. This Jujutsu Zero Ten Shadows guide covers the full progression path from the initial Technique Banner pull through the late-game mastery upgrades.

How to Unlock Ten Shadows in Jujutsu Zero

You can get Ten Shadows from the Technique Banner using Cursed Crystals. Since the featured technique rotates, make sure Ten Shadows is currently boosted before dumping your crystals into summons.

A summon costs 150 Cursed Crystals, and the featured technique changes every hour. Ten Shadows is part of the high-rarity Disaster Grade pool, which also has a pity system.

Pulling Ten Shadows unlocks its Shikigami-based moveset, but that’s only the first step. Upgrading individual summons requires materials from Shadow Island, while some late-game mastery nodes also need Ten Shadows Extras obtained from duplicate copies of the technique.

So, if you’re aiming to fully max Ten Shadows, your first copy won’t be the last one you’ll need.

How to Get the Secret Ticket and Unlock Shadow Island

To enter Shadow Island, you’ll need a Secret Ticket and must use it at the Shadow Island travel NPC near spawn.

The Jujutsu Zero Secret Ticket has a 1% drop chance from Chimera Crates, which you earn by completing the Shadow Sorcerer (Megumi) Raid. Once you get one, return to the Shadow Island NPC and use the ticket to unlock the island.

Shadow Island is where the main Ten Shadows progression grind begins. Megumi also gives you two introductory objectives there: destroy three marked shadow pillars and collect six marked Essence objects.

Both quests reward Shadow Essence, giving you a useful starter supply before you begin farming and upgrading your Shikigami.

How the Shikigami Altar Works

The Shikigami Altar is the core of the original Ten Shadows mastery grind. Each activation costs 6 Shadow Essence. Place the Essence into the altar to summon a random Shikigami boss, then defeat it to earn progression materials.

The catch is that you can’t choose which Shikigami spawns. If the altar keeps giving you a summon whose mastery branch you’ve already progressed, you’ll just have to keep farming until the one you need appears.

Each altar Shikigami drops materials tied to that specific summon, including its Tag and unique upgrade item. These materials aren’t shared between mastery trees, so a Nue Tag, for example, won’t help with Shiro progression.

You can also farm Shadow Island minibosses to build up your material stockpile. Key drops include Rabbit Hide from Rabbit, Light Fur from Shiro, Dark Fur from Kuro, Sharp Talons from Nue, and Wheel Fragments from Mahoraga.

Ten Shadows Shikigami and Mastery Paths

Ten Shadows revolves around five core Shikigami: Rabbit/Bunny, Shiro, Kuro, Nue, and Mahoraga. Each one has its own branch in the Ten Shadows Mastery tree, so you’ll need to upgrade them separately rather than relying on one shared mastery level.

  • Rabbit/Bunny is the basic swarm summon. Recasting it can trigger Rabbit Stampede, sending a wave of rabbits toward your target. Its upgrades improve survivability, summon uptime, and eventually its offensive value. Rabbit progression requires Bunny Tags and Rabbit Hide, with a Ten Shadows Extra needed for a later mastery node.
  • Shiro is one of the two Divine Dogs and works as an aggressive single-target companion. Its mastery unlocks Divine Fang, then boosts Shiro’s automatic attacks, HP, and summon duration. You’ll need Shiro Tags and Light Fur to progress its branch.
  • Kuro fills a similar companion role and unlocks Shadow Burst through its mastery path. Later upgrades improve its automatic attacks and durability. Kuro progression uses Kuro Tags and Dark Fur. Both Divine Dogs also become essential later on, since Shiro and Kuro are required to unlock Divine Dog: Totality.
  • Nue is the aerial, AoE-focused Shikigami. It’s especially useful against groups thanks to its wider attack coverage compared with the more single-target-focused Divine Dogs. Nue’s mastery requires Nue Tags and Sharp Talons, and it’s also tied to the Shadow Nue Gear reward.
  • Mahoraga is the heavy hitter of the original Ten Shadows kit, with powerful attacks and wide coverage. Its mastery uses Mahoraga Tags and Wheel Fragments. Later upgrades expand the summon even further with Focus and Adaptation mechanics, giving you much more control over Mahoraga in combat.

The main thing to remember is that every Jujutsu Zero Shikigami has its own progression path. Farming the same boss over and over won’t fully max Ten Shadows—you’ll eventually need materials from each relevant Shikigami branch.

Ten Shadows Part 2 Mastery Upgrades

Ten Shadows Part 2 adds four major progression paths to the mastery tree: Max Elephant, Divine Dog: Totality, Shadow Chimera Garden, and Mahoraga Focus/Adaptation.

How to Unlock and Upgrade Max Elephant

Max Elephant has a five-node mastery path. The first node costs 1 Elephant Tag and unlocks the summon. The second costs 3 Elephant Tags and 1 Purifying Tusk to unlock Falling Calamity.

The third node costs 15 Elephant Tags and 1 Purifying Tusk, doubling Max Elephant’s health and summon duration. Flood Burst comes next for 25 Elephant Tags and 2 Purifying Tusks.

The final upgrade costs 1 Ten Shadows Extra and buffs both you and Max Elephant, improving player HP amplification while increasing the Shikigami’s damage, health, duration, and cooldown reduction.

To fully max the branch, you’ll need:

  • 44 Elephant Tags
  • 4 Purifying Tusks
  • 1 Ten Shadows Extra

How to Unlock Divine Dog: Totality

The Twin Calamity node lets Shiro and Kuro fuse into Divine Dog: Totality. It costs:

  • 1 Ten Shadows Extra
  • 1 Sila Core
  • 2 Dark Fur
  • 2 Light Fur

Once unlocked, summon both Shiro and Kuro to trigger the fusion. Totality replaces the usual Divine Dog setup with a stronger moveset featuring two player-controlled attacks and one automatic attack.

How to Unlock Shadow Chimera Garden

Part 2 also adds the Shadow Chimera Garden domain. Its first mastery node costs 3 Garden Hearts, 1 Sila Core, and 3 Domain Fragments. While active, the domain grants several Ten Shadows-focused buffs, including +50% Cursed Technique amplification, Critical Rate, Cooldown Reduction, and Cursed Energy regeneration.

A second node costs 1 Ten Shadows Extra and 2 Sila Cores, increasing Shadow Chimera Garden’s duration by 50%. Unlike a standard closed domain that pulls everyone into a separate arena, Shadow Chimera Garden forms around your character. That makes positioning and activation timing much more important.

Mahoraga Focus and Adaptation Explained

Part 2’s Mahoraga upgrades are some of the biggest changes to the Ten Shadows kit. Mahoraga Focus, tied to the seventh Mahoraga mastery node, costs 1 Ten Shadows Extra and 2 Sila Cores. It lets you shift more control toward Mahoraga and use its abilities directly. It can also draw NPC aggro away from your character, with the Focus Switcher controlling this behavior.

The following Adaptation node costs another 1 Ten Shadows Extra and 3 Sila Cores. Mahoraga builds Adaptation by repeatedly taking hits from the same NPC. Once it activates, Mahoraga can nullify damage from that enemy while also making the target more vulnerable to incoming attacks.

Fully unlocking both Mahoraga upgrades costs 2 Ten Shadows Extras and 5 Sila Cores.

How to Farm Ten Shadows Part 2 Materials

Most of the Jujutsu Zero Ten Shadows Part 2 grind happens in the Shadow Sorcerer (Megumi) Raid. The base raid is aimed at high-level players and is available for characters around Level 6,000+. During the fight, Megumi enters a Shikigami phase at roughly 75% HP. Once you clear it, the fight continues until around 10% HP, when Mahoraga becomes the final major threat.

Clearing the raid rewards Chimera Crates. Most new Ten Shadows materials come from opening these crates rather than dropping directly from Megumi, so expect plenty of repeat clears if you’re chasing the rarer upgrades.

Chimera Crates can contain:

  • Elephant Tags — 10.8%
  • Purifying Tusks — 1.6%
  • Adaptive Cores — 1.6%
  • Garden Hearts — 0.8%
  • Rare domain-related materials at the lowest end of the loot pool

You’ll still need to revisit older Ten Shadows content for some upgrades. Sila Cores come from Shikigami summoned through the Shikigami Altar, while Light Fur and Dark Fur drop from Shiro and Kuro. Ten Shadows Extras mainly come from duplicate Ten Shadows pulls, though trading can also be an option where supported.

For faster progression, unlock Max Elephant’s first node early since it’s relatively cheap. If you already have the Divine Dog materials, Divine Dog: Totality is another good target. After that, start stacking Sila Cores for the Mahoraga upgrades.

Shadow Chimera Garden is usually the longer grind, mainly because Garden Hearts and Domain Fragments are much more RNG-heavy to farm.

Rare Ten Shadows Drops Worth Farming

Mastery materials aren’t the only reason to keep farming Ten Shadows encounters after unlocking your main upgrades. A couple of rare drops can still make the grind worthwhile.

Nue can drop Shadow Nue Gear, which unlocks the Shadow Nue flying mount. Its exact drop rate isn’t shown in-game, so it’s best treated as a lucky bonus rather than something you can reliably farm within a certain number of runs.

The bigger reward comes from Mahoraga. An altar-summoned Mahoraga can drop the False Wheel, one of the strongest accessories for a dedicated Ten Shadows build.

At max grade, False Wheel provides +125% Ten Shadows Cursed Technique amplification, giving you a solid reason to keep farming Mahoraga even after collecting the Mahoraga Tags and Wheel Fragments needed for its mastery path.

Neither Shadow Nue Gear nor False Wheel currently has a confirmed in-game drop rate, so don’t rely on exact percentages when planning your farm.

Overall, Ten Shadows progression is split between two connected grinds. Shadow Island and the Shikigami Altar handle the original Shikigami upgrades and materials, while the Megumi Raid and Chimera Crates drive most of the Part 2 progression.
