In the Last Epoch, true power doesn’t just drop from the sky, you forge it yourself. Legendary items are the crown jewels of gear progression, and their creation hinges on one mechanic: Legendary Potential.
Legendary Potential (or LP) is a special attribute that can randomly appear on most Unique items in Last Epoch. Think of LP as a gateway, the more LP a Unique has (1 to 4), the more affixes it can inherit from an Exalted item when turned into a Legendary.
Don’t expect 4LP drops every other run LP rarity scales with the power of the Unique. Weak Uniques? Decent shot at 2LP. Endgame beasts like Omnis? You’re looking at scientific notation levels of rarity.
Effective LP Level | LP1 | LP2 | LP3 | LP4 |
0 (common) | 39.68% | 19.7% | 4.25% | 0.37% |
35 | 32.97% | 7.24% | 0.6% | 0.0066% |
65 | 21.26% | 1.84% | 0.047% | 0.0004% |
100 (endgame) | 6.12% | 0.068% | 0.00012% | 3.01 × 10⁰% |
To use Legendary Potential, you’ll need to venture into the Temporal Sanctum, a dungeon only accessible with a special key. But first, collect your ingredients:
Make sure the Exalted item has fully filled affix slots, only filled slots can be transferred.
Located in the Divine Era, south near The Coast, the Temporal Sanctum is a dungeon with tiers (Tier 1–4) that limit the item level you can use. Choose your difficulty wisely, higher tiers unlock crafting for high-end gear.
Once you’ve cleared the dungeon, you’ll find the Eternity Cache in a gilded chamber of the Divine Era. Here’s how it works:
The process is random. You won’t choose which affixes get inherited (and sealed affixes are ignored), so prepare for some RNG. If it rolls junk, back to the grind.
Legendary Potential is a way to build-defining gear in Last Epoch. It’s not just about luck, it’s about patience, planning, and knowing when to hold or fold. With the right combination of LP and affixes, you can craft gear that turns your build from solid to unstoppable.
