The Factory Warden is one of the most intense boss fights in Split Fiction, challenging players with coordinated teamwork and precise timing. This mechanical menace appears in Chapter 4’s Test Chamber, where Zoe and Mio must use their unique abilities to dismantle its defenses. In this guide, we’ll break down the boss fight into three phases and provide strategies to take down the Factory Warden efficiently.

How To Start The Factory Warden Boss Fight
Upon entering the boss arena, you’ll notice two color-coded areas: a red and a blue box hanging above, along with launch pads on the ground. Activating these will initiate the fight. Here’s what you need to do:
- Zoe places her Shield Buster on the blue box, then returns to her blue launch pad.
- Mio stands on Zoe’s launch pad to get launched toward the blue box.
- Zoe shoots the switch to send Mio flying. Just before she reaches the blue box, Zoe detonates her Shield Buster to open the entrance, allowing Mio to enter.
- Mio activates the station and drops back down.
- Repeat the process for Mio’s red station.
Once both stations are activated, the Factory Warden drops into the arena, and the battle begins.

Phase One: Destroying the Legs
The Factory Warden is equipped with eight legs. However, there is no need to concern yourself with hit, since you only need to pay attention to the two marked ones, which I will denote as the blue circle and the red triangle. Each leg is composed of three parts: a metallic flat, a cover, and two toggles. This is how I will be showing you how to take them off:
- One player shoots the marked spot to expose the metal plate.
- The other player destroys the shield.
- Both players shoot their respective switches to take out the leg.
For example, Zoe (blue) shoots the blue circle to expose a red shield. Mio then destroys it, revealing both a red and blue switch. Both players must then shoot their switches simultaneously.

Boss Attacks and Counters:
Ability | Description | Counter |
Fire Beam | Breathes fire in a straight line. | Dash sideways. |
Leg Stomp | Slams a leg down. | Dash away. |
Jump Slam | Jumps and crashes down, creating a fire ring. | Jump over the flames. |
Bullet Spin | Spins while firing bullets. | Stay aware of bullet casing patterns. |
After two legs are destroyed, the Warden curls up and spawns drones. Quickly eliminate them to avoid being overwhelmed.

Phase Two: The Core Weakness
Once all legs are destroyed, the Warden collapses, exposing red and blue switches on its back. Meanwhile, toxic water rises beneath the battlefield.
- The Warden now spits green toxins on the floor, igniting them with its fire beam.
- It also launches land mines that track Zoe and Mio. Destroy them before they get too close.
To hit the switches:
- Use the launch pads to shoot the switches while airborne.
- Grapple between areas to avoid toxic zones.
- Once both switches are activated, the Warden falls into the toxic water, entering Phase Three.

Phase Three: The Final Showdown
The Warden emerges with only its head intact, now protected by a color-shifting shield. To break through:
- Use the correct Shield Buster color that matches the shield’s hue.
- When exposed, both players must jump onto its head and pry open the metal plate to attack.
- The Warden starts flying and diving, releasing green toxins.
- Use floating platforms to move across the rising toxic water.
For the final sequence:
- The Warden slams into a conveyor belt with two hydraulic presses.
- Players must dash carefully to avoid getting crushed.
- A wall of fire blocks progress, use wall-running or dashing to bypass it.
- Both players must shoot their respective switches to activate the presses three times.
After the third press, the Warden is crushed into scrap, marking your victory.

Final Tips for Beating The Factory Warden
- Communicate with your co-op partner to coordinate attacks and shield breaks.
- Memorize attack patterns to dodge effectively.
- Use launch pads and grapples to move quickly.
- Prioritize eliminating drones and mines to keep the battlefield manageable.
With these strategies, you’ll crush the Factory Warden and continue your journey in Split Fiction.
