This heavily armored foe, forged from shields and weapons, hides a vulnerable pink crystallized body beneath its shell. Beating this boss requires teamwork, strategic use of abilities, and precise dodging. Here’s how to take it down.

Phase One: The Fire Arena

The battle begins with Mio and Zoe trapped in a circular arena surrounded by fire. Standard attacks won’t work, so you’ll need to utilize the environment to deal damage.

Strategy:

• The Treasure Traitor spawns spiky metal shells that spin around the arena. Direct contact will damage you, but these shells hold the key to defeating the boss.
• Mio's Role: Use her red dragon to spit acid and melt the metal shells, revealing purple explosive cores.
• Zoe's Role: Use her blue dragon to hurl the explosive cores at the Treasure Traitor. The good news? The cores automatically lock onto the boss, making targeting easier.

Treasure Traitor’s Abilities and How to Counter Them

The Treasure Traitor has several abilities that can make the battle difficult. One of its main attacks is Water Spikes, where it triggers spikes in different patterns around the arena. These move in a predictable sequence, so watching their movement and staying out of their way is key.

Another powerful attack is the Transformation Projectile, a homing shot that targets one of the players. If you see a pink circle closing beneath your feet, it means you’re the target. Upon impact, Zoe will be turned into a snake-like metal statue, while Mio transforms into a pink crystal. In this state, both players are immobilized and cannot attack. To break free, Mio must spit acid onto Zoe’s metal form, while Zoe must roll into Mio’s crystal form to remove the stun.

The Treasure Traitor also summons a Golden Laser Contraption, which appears in the middle of the arena and shoots out three rotating laser beams. While these lasers spin, the boss will continue spawning metal spiked shells. The best way to avoid damage here is to time your jumps carefully over the lasers while continuing to destroy the spiky shells and throw the explosive cores at the boss.

Phase Two: The Spinning Assault

Once its HP drops to half, the Treasure Traitor leaps into the arena, creating an expanding fire ring. Jump immediately to avoid damage.

Strategy:

• The boss transforms into a spiked ball, spinning rapidly across the arena. Stay away from walls, as it gains speed when bouncing off them.
• Continue using the spiked metal shells to deal damage. Once enough damage is done, the tortoise will be stunned.
• Mio’s Role: Spit acid at its metal face armor to expose the pink crystallized head.
• Zoe’s Role: Roll into the exposed crystal for massive damage.

Final Assault:

• The Treasure Traitor will retract into its shell and spin in place, releasing rings of fire. Stay near the arena's edge and jump over them to avoid damage.
• The boss will then spin at higher speeds, spawning more spiked shells—use them to repeat the attack cycle.
• Once stunned again, melt its armor, destroy the crystal, and flip the tortoise onto its back.

The Finishing Move: Molten Gold Demise

When the Treasure Traitor is fully incapacitated, approach and interact with it to push it into the giant cauldron of molten gold. Watch the final cutscene as Mio and Zoe claim their golden swords and unlock the final forms of their dragons.
