Don't Look Down is a side quest in Avowed that takes place in the Shark’s Teeth region, specifically in Shatterscarp. Your objective is to deliver supplies to two fighters battling Dreamthralls in a tower while navigating a series of traps along the way.

How to Start the Quest
To begin the quest, head north of the Shark’s Mouth Beacon in Shatterscarp, where you'll encounter Moapo, a courier who calls you over. He explains that two warriors ahead have been efficiently taking down Dreamthralls, and he needs someone to deliver their next batch of supplies. Regardless of how you respond, you’ll receive the task to take the supplies to them.

Reaching the Tower
- Follow the path ahead and take the first left turn.
- Pass through the water and ascend the steps to the right.
- At the top, follow the path left until you reach the tower, where an injured Aedyran soldier is sitting against the wall.
At this point, you have a choice:
- Heal the soldier (using a potion or Dream Touch).
- Extract more information about the situation.
- Ignore them (if you do, they will be dead when you return).
Regardless of your decision, your next objective is to climb the tower.

Entering the Tower and Navigating Traps
The front doors of the tower are locked, so you need to find another way inside. There are two possible routes:
- Left Path: Climb the debris slope.
- Right Path: Go through a tunnel, where you'll encounter an Arisen Skeleton Barbarian.
Disarm as many tripwires as possible along the way, as each one grants 10 XP. You can also access the tower by:
- Destroying a breakable wall at the tower’s base.
- Using pathways around the tower to find a ledge to climb up.
Climbing the Tower
Carefully jump between ledges while disarming traps and collecting potions, lockboxes, and chests. Near the top, you’ll find a lever that disables all traps, allowing for safe movement.
At the top of the tower, you’ll find Katoa and Haiako, discussing their next move. If Kai is in your party, he will recognize Katoa and join the conversation.

Resolving the Situation Peacefully
I chose not to fight Katoa and Haiako, opting instead to de-escalate the situation. Here’s how I convinced them to leave:
- Mention the Fires in the Mine quest: If you completed the quest without blowing up the mine, you can say: "I saved Rutaska’s mine. You’d be out of ammunition if it weren’t for me." This causes them to hesitate.
- Use Kai’s Influence: If Kai is in your party, you can say: "Kai, they know you. You may be the only one here they’ll listen to." This strengthens your case.
By successfully choosing two of these options, Katoa and Haiako decided to leave peacefully, completing the quest with 3,300 XP as the reward.
Alternatively, you could have:
- Left them alone ("Then I'm leaving. I'll look the other way.")
- Attacked them, leading to a fight (which I avoided).

Quest Rewards
- Peaceful Resolution: 3,300 XP
- Chest Loot: Thirdborn Brigandine Jack +1 (Heavy Armor)
Exiting the Tower
To quickly leave, jump off the wooden plank near the ledge and land in the pool of water below.
By handling the situation peacefully, I avoided unnecessary combat and completed the mission with a positive outcome.
