All Marvel Rivals Characters and Hero Tier List

Marve Rivals— another superhero game in the Marvel universe featuring well-known characters from comics and movies. The game itself is a PvP shooter in the style of Overwatch or other hero-based games in the genre.

All characters in Marvel Rivals

Despite the game not being released yet, some players managed to play Marvel Rivals and get acquainted with the game's heroes during the closed beta test.

The game plans to feature 33 heroes, each of which will be free for players. Most of them have been officially announced and were available during the beta test, while others are yet to appear. In this article, we will not only review all the Marvel Rivals characters but also the hero tier list based on their power and complexity at the time of the game's closed access.

All game heroes are divided into three main roles:

Vanguard (DPS):
These Marvel Rivals characters act as frontline defenders, equipped with abilities suitable for direct combat and protecting allies. With significant health reserves, they excel at absorbing damage.

Duelists (Tanks): Maneuverable and damage-oriented, Duelists specialize in eliminating key enemies and creating chaos within the opposing team, playing a crucial role in offense and destabilization.

Strategists (Supports): Serving as healers and support, Strategists enhance allies with healing and bonuses. Despite their supportive nature, they can often hold their own in battles.

Adam Warlock

Adam Warlock is a support hero whose abilities can change the course of the game. His Soul Bond and Avatar Life Stream support the health of allies, while his basic attack and Cosmic Cluster provide significant damage.

The ultimate ability Karmic Revival allows the entire team to be revived, often turning the tide of battle.

Thanks to a passive ability that gives him a second life, Adam Warlock remains in the game even after being defeated. When combined with heroes like Mantis and Star-Lord, he significantly enhances the team's survivability, making him indispensable in any team composition.

Black Panther

Black Panther offers a combo-focused style of play at close range. However, missing key attacks leaves him vulnerable, and even with perfect execution, his damage falls behind other heroes like Spider-Man. While playing Black Panther can be fun, at a high competitive level, he usually loses to competitors.

Bruce Banner/Hulk

Hulk has three forms that add variety to his gameplay, but overall his style boils down to chaos and destruction. His abilities, while varied, lack sufficient impact to make him a top-tier hero. Hulk is best suited for quick strikes and exits from combat, creating chaos and providing an opportunity for stronger damage dealers to finish the job.

Captain America

Captain America enters the battlefield with his legendary shield, ready to take on any challenge. He swiftly attacks enemies, keeping his shield at the ready to deflect enemy blows and protect himself from projectiles.

The shield serves not only for defense but is also a deadly weapon capable of disrupting opponents' actions when used accurately. Always a strategist, Captain America is a reliable frontline fighter.

Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange is an aggressive tank whose unique abilities make him indispensable in team play. His global teleport is perfect for tactical advantages, while the shield helps control areas.

His basic attack inflicts significant damage but requires skillful management of Dark Magic, which must be activated in time through Maelstrom of Madness to avoid the anti-heal state. Though challenging to play, Doctor Strange rewards strategic players with his potential to lead the team to victory.

Groot

Groot is a massive tank with a defensive playstyle, making him an excellent choice for specific team compositions. His barriers block enemy advances and enhance his resilience, making him a vital figure in crowd-control-focused strategies. Although his large size makes him an easy target, Groot's synergy with aggressive heroes like Venom and Magik allows the team to quickly suppress enemies.

Hawkeye

Clint Barton, better known as Hawkeye, appears in Marvel Rivals with a new vibrant image that surpasses his movie counterpart. Armed with his legendary bow and arrows, Hawkeye is capable of causing immense damage, especially with accurate headshots.

In his arsenal, he also has a sword, which can deflect projectiles and knock enemies off platforms, adding useful options to his playstyle. His ultimate ability grants him a fully charged bow, allowing him to shoot arrow series at incredible speed, making him a dynamic and versatile hero in any match.

Hela

Hela, the Goddess of Death, is a pinpoint damage hero requiring high skill levels. Her Piercing Night, combined with precise headshots, allows for quickly depleting enemies' health.

However, her dependency on accuracy makes her vulnerable in close combat against fast heroes like Spider-Man. Her ultimate ability provides excellent crowd control, aiding in area dominance or escaping danger. Hela is deadly in the hands of an experienced player.

Iron Man

Iron Man excels as a ranged and aerial DPS hero with area damage. His ability to hover above the battlefield allows him to stay out of reach for most enemies while exerting pressure from afar.

His ultimate ability is impressive, delivering massive damage to enemy groups. However, his reliance on positioning and lack of strong defensive tools make him vulnerable to experienced opponents like The Punisher.

Loki

Loki is a hero with abilities focused on deception and mobility, allowing him to outmaneuver opponents. His decoys create temporary confusion, while invisibility and deadly back attacks make him effective in battles. Although he's not a full-fledged healer, his synergy with heroes like Adam Warlock or Luna Snow enables him to keep allies alive while diverting the enemies' attention.

Luna Snow

Luna Snow is a versatile support hero combining healing and damage capability. Her primary attack serves a dual purpose: as a tool for targeted enemy attacks and reliable ally healing.

With Ice Arts, she enhances her offensive capabilities while restoring her health, allowing her to remain effective in combat. Her skill Share the Stage heals several allies at once, making her indispensable for supporting tanks and DPS.

The ultimate ability Fate of Both Worlds provides either strong healing or team buffs, making Luna Snow a key figure in both offensive and defensive situations.

Magik

Magik specializes in close combat, offering high risk and significant reward. Her teleportation ability allows for quick entry and exit from combat, while her attacks grant bonus health, enhancing her survivability. Paired with tanks like Venom or Magneto, Magik shines as a mobile and resilient melee fighter able to effectively disrupt enemy ranks.

Magneto

Magneto distinguishes himself with a slow but devastating playstyle, making him an ideal tank. His primary attack fires powerful projectiles that, despite their slowness, inflict serious damage and can quickly eliminate DPS or support heroes.

His Bulwark ability provides allies or Magneto himself with a shield, increasing durability and enhancing Mag-Cannon for an explosive attack. Magneto reaches peak efficiency when combined with the Metallic Fusion Scarlet Witch, a team attack that deals immense damage over a large area. Despite a high level of difficulty, Magneto is a key figure in the team's defensive strategies.

Mantis

Mantis specializes in gradual healing, making her an excellent choice for extended battles. Her self-healing ability and supportive effects help her stay alive as she fulfills her role. Despite offering less versatility compared to other support heroes, her abilities to stun and amplify damage compensate for this lack, making her a crucial secondary healer for the team.

Moon Knight

The Moon Knight, an avatar chosen by Khonshu, the Egyptian god of the moon, brings ancient weaponry and divine power to the battlefield. Armed with crescent darts, he can deliver precise ranged attacks, and his moon blade makes him equally dangerous in close combat.

His ultimate ability summons Khonshu's wrath, opening a portal that rains destruction on anyone caught beneath it. The combination of mysticism and combat skill makes the Moon Knight a relentless adversary to anyone.

Namor

Namor relies on easily destroyable towers, greatly reducing his effectiveness. Although his synergy with Luna Snow adds some versatility, it doesn't compensate for his weaknesses. Namor often struggles to make a significant impact, making him rarely a viable choice in competitive matches.

Peni Parker

Peni Parker possesses a set of traps that provide excellent defensive capabilities but limit her ability to push objectives. Her webbing adds survivability, but her dependency on preparation makes her cumbersome in dynamic battles. She excels in holding positions but struggles to adapt to rapidly changing situations.

Psylocke

Psylocke enters the fray, armed with a deadly arsenal ideal for eliminating enemies at any range. Her quick dash ability allows for instant repositioning or closing the distance during intense skirmishes, making this technique an excellent tool for ambushes.

With her unique ability to become invisible, she can bypass enemy defenses or catch them off guard. Psylocke's versatility ensures that she remains a formidable threat in any confrontation, combining speed, stealth, and precision in a lethal arsenal.

Rocket Raccoon

Rocket Raccoon is a support hero with a wide range of abilities. He can revive allies using the Battle Rebirth Beacon, which also periodically provides armor, enhancing team survivability.

Though his healing ability is less effective than heroes like Luna Snow, his synergy with aggressive allies like The Punisher makes him a valuable asset. Rocket performs best in tactical, team-focused situations where his support becomes decisive.

Scarlet Witch

Scarlet Witch excels at crowd control and consistent damage, making her a formidable opponent. Her Dark Seal repeatedly stuns enemies, making it perfect for protecting choke points or dealing with tanks.

Although her basic attacks are easily countered with healing, the accumulation of Chaos Energy keeps her a dangerous threat even in prolonged fights.

Spider-Man

Spider-Man combines mobility, explosive damage, and high skill, making him one of the most exciting heroes to master. His Spider-Tracer marks enemies, preparing them for devastating combos like Amazing Combo and Get Over Here!, which can instantly take down weaker opponents.

Unmatched mobility allows him to easily maneuver in battles, avoiding danger and dealing damage at the enemy's rear. Though complex to use, Spider-Man is perfect for players who enjoy a fast and risky playstyle.

Star-Lord

Star-Lord excels with high mobility and explosive damage output, making him a powerful DPS when played aggressively. His Blaster Barrage weakens groups of enemies, creating opportunities for allies to capitalize on the damage inflicted.

Despite his fragility and lack of crowd control, an experienced player can use Star-Lord to dominate in the enemy's rear, particularly in taking down key targets like support heroes.

Storm

Storm plays a unique role as a hybrid support and damage dealer. Her abilities, like Weather Control, allow switching between two buffs, enhancing team mobility or damage output.

Her Bolt Rush and Goddess Boost work well as offensive tools, especially with the ability to fly. Storm performs best in tightly-knit teams, although her potential is less utilized in random teams.

The Punisher

The Punisher is a straightforward but highly effective medium-range hero. Armed with an automatic rifle and a shotgun, he dominates both close and mid-range combat.

His deployable turret and ultimate mech ability significantly boost his damage, making him a nightmare for enemies trying to capture objectives. His ability to counter heroes like Iron Man and Spider-Man showcases his versatility as a constant threat.

Venom

Venom is a powerful combination of durability and aggression. With a base health of 800 units and the ability to recover using Symbiotic Resilience, he is one of the most challenging heroes to take down.

His ultimate ability Feast of the Abyss not only inflicts damage but also restores health, making him a resilient opponent in prolonged fights. Thanks to the mobility skill Venom Swing, he can quickly avoid danger or close the gap on enemies.

Combined with Cellular Corrosion and Frenzied Arrival, which slow down enemies and allow for quick pursuit, Venom becomes a formidable melee fighter, ideal for players who enjoy high risk and high rewards.

Winter Soldier

Armed with his cybernetic metal prosthetic, the Winter Soldier embodies aggression and versatility. His arm functions as a hook, allowing him to grab enemies from a distance.

With devastating uppercut blows, he launches enemies into the air, showcasing his superhuman strength. Additionally, the arm appears infected by a symbiote, with tendrils bursting forth, adding a terrifying element to his arsenal, complemented by a reliable close-range pistol.
