CEO SINNERS beskyldte VRS for uretfærdig omberegning af rating

CEO for SINNERS, Milan Hibl, has publicly spoken out against Valve's ranking system (VRS). According to him, it unfairly penalizes teams that show progress and improve their results over time.

He states that SINNERS have shown significant progress over the season but were left out of the MRQ just a step away from their goal. This is largely due to the controversial VRS ranking system, which Milan believes hits the tier-2 scene hard.

The main issue is the recalculation of old matches. Valve considers the results of games over the last six months but reviews them based on the team's current rating.

It becomes absurd: if you have grown and become stronger, your old losses suddenly become "more costly." This is exactly how SINNERS lost about 40 ranking points — for matches played six months ago.

Why punish teams for improving?
He wonders

But the problems didn't end there. The second blow was the removal of ranking points for CCT Series 16. Valve excluded this tournament from the VRS system due to violations of invitation rules by the organizers.

SINNERS earned important points there and had one of the best performances of the season. But due to Valve's decisions, their progress was annulled. For tier-2 teams like SINNERS, such points are a chance for invitations to top tournaments and entry to the LAN scene.

As a result, SINNERS finished the qualifiers with 922 points — exactly the same as Iberian Family in 31st place. But the MRQ cutoff started at 27th place. In his opinion, without these two factors — the recalculation of losses and the removal of points for CCT — they would definitely have made it to the MRQ.

This is not a complaint. This is the beginning of a dialogue
