The open world of Elden Ring Shadow of Erdtree gives you the freedom to explore most of the locations in the game in any order, even if they are not required to complete the main storyline. Among these activities are dungeons, where you can find additional useful items or resources, as well as try your hand at another optional boss.
One of these dungeons is Ruined Forge of Starfall Past in the Realm of Shadow. In this guide, we will walk you through the dungeon and help you clear it completely so that you don't miss anything.
Location of the Ruined Forge of Starfall Past dungeon
Finding the location of Ruined Forge of Starfall Past is not that difficult. Teleport to the place of grace Moorth Ruins Cross in Scadu Altus. From there, head straight southwest. For your convenience, take a look at the image below, which shows the path from the aforementioned place of grace to the desired cave.
Walkthrough of the Ruined Forge of Starfall Past dungeon
Enter the dungeon, go through the tunnel and down the stairs. Below, at the foot of the stairs, you will see a place of grace, which is better to activate for convenience.
Go through the doorway and turn left. On the way, pick up a Smithing Stone [6] from the ground. In the corner of the room, you will see a corpse, from which you can take a Smithing Stone [3] x5. Another identical item will be lying on the floor.
Cross the stone bridge and kill the enemy on the opposite side, then pull the lever near the wall. On the left side of this ledge, pick up a Smithing Stone [2] and a Smithscript Spear.
Go down the ladder or just jump off. Kill the next enemy and pick up two Smithing Stones [3], a little further on there will be another Smithing Stone [2] and a Smithing Stone [3].
Go through the corridor and kill the enemy ahead. In the corner to the left of the passage you came through, there will be Smithing Stone [5], [6], [3] [2]. A stone giant will be sitting behind a fallen stone column. Kill it and go on, picking up another Smithing Stone [2] on the way to the left of the entrance to the next corridor.
On the way to the right, there will be an enemy lava clot and a block of Smithing Stone [5] near the wall. Go further to the end of the tunnel, kill another lava monster and a stone giant on the left behind the wall in the corner. In the corner opposite, pick up a Smithing Stone [3] and a Somber Smithing Stone [7].
Return to the tunnel you came from and climb the ladder that will be on the left side of the wall. Go through the corridor and enter another room with two lava clots and a stone giant, which you should kill and pick up a couple of smithing stones from them, and downstairs near the hot stones and charred weapons will be a corpse with a Somber Smithing Stone [8].
Where to find the Smithing Talisman
Climb the slope from the collapsed wall to the left, enter the corridor, and then turn left. In this room, you'll be attacked by a pack of lava monsters from the ceiling. Use weapons or AoE abilities to defeat them quickly and efficiently. After that, you can safely pick up the Smithing Talisman from the dead body pinned to the wall.
How to get Smithing Cirque
Exit the room and jump down to the bridge. Behind you, pick up Smithing Stone [8] x2 and a lava monster will fall from the ceiling. Go across the bridge and kill or avoid the stone giant. Pick up a Gas Stone near it. Next, near the pillar of fire, pull the lever and pick up the Glass Shard from the corpse.
Jump down and enter the passage that opened after you pulled the lever. Go through the corridor, kill the two stone giants, collect the resources, and pick up the Smithing Cirque.
How to get the Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword
Go back to the corridor you came through and to the left of the exit you will see a lever — pull it. The gate will start to rise, closing the entrance. Stand on the gate to rise with it. Go ahead and enter the room with the wyvern smithy. Interact with it to get Ancient Dragon Smithing stone and Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword.
After that, the dungeon can be considered completed, as there is nothing else interesting or useful to find here, and there are no bosses. To leave the dungeon, you can use the portal that will appear next to the altar, which will take you to the beginning.
