Have you ever been playing a game of Counter-Strike and wondered why your teammates are spinning at inhuman speeds? A phenomenon most frequently seen while still in spawn, players will often use a multitude of ways in order to spin exceedingly quickly, far faster than you would expect is possible.
Seeing it always raises the question: ‘How to spin in CS2?’
Fortunately for you, we here at Bo3 have compiled a detailed guide on how to spin in CS2. This includes the most simple methods such as mouse settings, all the way up to more convoluted methods like CS2 spin commands and keybinds.
But first, let’s cover the one way you definitely shouldn’t be spinning in CS2.
The way to not spin in CS2
Before we get into our how to spin in CS2 guide, we should probably fill you in on the fact that this isn’t a guide on CS2 spinbot.
For the uninitiated, spinbotting in CS2 is a method of cheating. If you’ve never played against a spinbotter, it also happens to be the most annoying method of cheating to face.
CS2 hacks have been a problem ever since the games release, but spinbots go back way further than CS2 and also plagued CS:GO. CS2 spinbotters move incredibly fast as the rapid character rotation makes it incredibly difficult to hit their player model. As well as this, they will also have an insanely accurate aim hack, which allows them to hit every bullet they fire without even trying.
In short, if you come up against a spinbotter, just accept that you’ve already lost. If you don’t know what one looks like, here’s a handy video:
Spinning via your mouse
The easiest CS2 spinning technique is to just change your mouse or in-game sensitivity. Simply crank your mouse dpi up to the highest setting and wiggle it around like a lunatic until your wrist hurts.
If that’s not fast enough, you can also up your in-game sensitivity and you’ll be spinning around on CS2 faster than you ever thought was possible.
CS2 spin keybinds and console commands
Changing your sensitivity isn’t the only way to spin in CS2. You can also spin in CS2 by using keybinds and console commands.
The easiest way to do this is by opening up your console and typing either ‘+right’ or +left’. Inputting these CS2 spin commands will make your CS2 character rotation become permanent in either the right or left direction, and you won’t even have to touch your mouse at all. To end this perpetual spin, type either ‘-left’ or ‘-right’.
If you want to go further and be able to do this frequently without typing it out each time, there are further CS2 spin keybinds you can use. Try typing ‘Bind X + right’ in your console and this will bind the spin command to whichever key you choose to replace X with. You can then also do this for ‘+left’, ‘-left’, and ‘-right’.
Another great bind for spinning in CS2 is the 180-degree bind. While incredibly situational, this bind may save your life. If you are firing at one enemy and another one starts shooting at you from behind, simply press this CS2 spin bind in order to quickly rotate and engage them in combat.
To input this CS2 console command, do the following:
- Open the in-game developer console.
- Type: ‘cl_yawspeed [number]’
- Replace [number] with a value of your choosing.
- In order to make this a 180-degree CS2 spin bind, input this command: ‘alias "+spin" "m_yaw 0.09" alias "-spin" "m_yaw 0.022" bind alt "+spin"’
CS2 spinning tricks
Although you used to be able to do multiple spinning tricks in CS2, this number has been reduced thanks to later updates.
Previously, you used to be able to defuse the bomb while spinning in CS2. This would make your character's player model harder to hit by increasing its rotation. Valve patched this out of the game because it was exploitable.
However, you can still use the CS2 spin console commands shown previously as an afk (away from keyboard) command. Simply use the ‘+left’ or ‘+right’ commands and you will no longer be kicked for inactivity.
