A few hours before Grow a Garden updates are launched, players log into the game just to be a part of a pre-update event called the Admin Abuse. Throughout these couple of hours, players are showered with valuable items, special admin weather and rare mutations. Here’s how you can join your fellow Gardeners and experience your first admin abuse.

Before an update, Grow a Garden will usually host an event called an Admin Abuse for half an hour. The update will be released on Saturday at 8:30 P.M. UTC while the Admin Abuse will usually start about 30 minutes earlier at 8:00 P.M. UTC. Meanwhile, the Watering Wednesday Admin Abuse will usually start at 10:00 P.M. UTC on Wednesday. When Does Admin Abuse Start?
There are two different times when an admin abuse is held in the game currently; a pre-update admin abuse on Saturdays and another 30-minute admin abuse on Wednesdays.
Pre-update Admin Abuse
Admin abuse events will usually run for 30 minutes, before an update is released. The updates usually have a scheduled time of launching at 8.30 P.M. UTC every Saturday- which means that the admin abuse will start at 8:00 P.M. UTC.
This admin abuse has been run for most of the game's existence and it bears witness to a lot of record breaking achievements. The admin abuse is known to be run by Jandel and lately, Jhailatte. Occasionally, they will bring co-hosts into the game such as Albert and Travis Kelce.
Watering Wednesdays
Watering Wednesdays are a fairly new admin abuse event that was introduced in April. This admin abuse will run every Wednesday for 30 minutes, just like the event on Saturdays.
What is Admin Abuse?
An admin abuse is an event where the developers of Grow a Garden give the players a lot of rewards as a show of appreciation. Throughout the event, rare items in the shops are restocked, admin weathers are run and special items are given away. Here’s a peek at some of the things that go on during an admin abuse.
Rare Items Restock
Items ranging from seeds, gears and pet eggs are restocked throughout the event. These items are usually rarely in stock in the shops such as Elder Strawberry seed, Levelup Lollipop and Bug Eggs. Such rare items usually help produce more valuable fruits or pets that could help your garden grow in value.
Limited Seeds, Pets and Cosmetics Reward
As a reward for being present during an Admin Abuse, the developers would give out limited items that are unobtainable in the game. Here are some examples of such items:
- Seeds: Fruitball, Gold Beanstalk, Frostspike
- Pets: Chicken Zombie, Peach Wasp, Apple Gazelle, Lemon Lion, Green Bean, Cooked Owl, Junkbot
- Cosmetics: Monster Mash Trophy, Grilled Moon Lit Owl, Jump Pad, Flamingo Garden Stake, Alien Lamp
Admin Weathers
Admin weathers are special weathers that are not in the game’s normal rotation of weathers. These weathers are also special because of the valuable mutations and items that they could give you. There are two types of admin weathers; weathers that only apply mutations to your crops and interactive weathers that give you both limited items and mutations.
