History and Evolution of Cache

We also released a detailed article covering the history of the Cache map — from its removal from the competitive map pool on March 29, 2019, and replacement by Vertigo, to its limited return in October. After the launch of CS2, map creator FMPONE rebuilt Cache entirely from scratch — it’s now available in the Workshop.

The new version features a Soviet industrial aesthetic: brick buildings, rusted containers, and a Chernobyl-like atmosphere. Interiors are more immersive, with peeling walls, old furniture, and stained glass. Textures and lighting have been significantly improved. You can check out the full article via the link.
