Map creator Shawn "FMPONE" Snelling has added an updated version of Cache for CS2 to the Steam Workshop. The map designer shared this information on his personal page on X.
Cache is inspired by the abandoned Chernobyl, a city where a terrible disaster occurred. The map features many Soviet-themed inscriptions, rusty containers, and peeling walls. The atmosphere of desolation is emphasized by overgrown vegetation. On November 13, 2017, the map was added to the official map pool.
Removal of the Legendary s1mple Graffiti
One of the changes that shocked everyone was the disappearance of the iconic s1mple graffiti. In the CS:GO version of Cache, there was graffiti at point A dedicated to s1mple's incredible clutch against fnatic in 2016.
It became part of CS history and was a tribute to one of the most memorable moments in the esports scene. However, in the updated Cache in CS2, the graffiti is no longer present. It is likely that it will be returned later.

Map Appearance
The updated Cache in CS2 received a more detailed and atmospheric design. The map is styled as an abandoned Soviet industrial site with brick buildings and rusty containers, reminiscent of Chernobyl, which the map creator managed to preserve.
The interiors have become more contrasting: stained glass windows, peeling walls, and old furniture create a sense of neglect. Lighting and textures have been improved, but this may affect player visibility and performance.

On March 29, 2019, Cache was sent for rework, where it was replaced by Vertigo. In the update from October 18-19, 2019, the map was brought back, but it was only available in certain modes. After the release of CS2, FMPONE had to create the map from scratch, and today it was added to the workshop, where anyone can play. The map can be downloaded via the link.
