Today, ZETA DIVISION confidently started at the VCT PACIFIC 2024 Stage 1 tournament, securing a victory in the opening against Global Esports with a score of 2-1. The match, held as part of the Masters Shanghai qualification, confirmed the team's excellent form.
On the first map, Sunset, ZETA DIVISION made significant changes to their agent lineup, opting for Chamber and Phoenix. The team's in-game leader, Koji "Laz" Ushida, shared his thoughts on this in an interview after the match:
We experimented a lot and decided that this lineup would be the most effective. Personally, it was particularly pleasing for me to have the opportunity to play Chamber at such a tournament.
Despite the victory, ZETA DIVISION faced defeat on the second map, Icebox. Koji noted:
We couldn't adapt adequately to the opponent's playstyle, which was significantly different from our usual practice sessions. However, we are confident that we will learn from this match and become stronger.
The next challenge for ZETA DIVISION is a match against Team Secret. In previous games, they have already faced each other, and although ZETA DIVISION suffered defeat, the team hopes to rectify their mistakes and start the group stage with a win.
