Zest leaves IAM after departure from DRX, player's future in Valorant uncertain

The Korean organization IAM announced the final departure of player Kim "Zest" Gi-seok, who played for the team, after being benched by DRX.

IAM is a Korean streaming team, featuring players such as Bunny and Efina, who have experience participating in global competitions with F4Q. They qualified for the VCL Korea 2024 Split1 open qualifiers held in January. In the main stage, which began at the end of February, IAM secured one win and one loss, and in just a few days they will enter new battles if they find a replacement for the departed player.

Zest made a name for himself in the competitive CS:GO scene before transitioning to the competitive Valorant scene in early 2020. After Vision Strikers were acquired, he moved to DRX, where he participated in many international competitions and secured third place at VALORANT Champions 2022, which became his most significant achievement of his career.

DRX announced the departure of Rb and Zest from the roster in December of last year. Rb joined the Chinese club Titan Esports Club in January to play in the 2024 VCT CHINA season, but Zest remained without a club and left IAM to participate in the Korean Challengers league.

Due to the lack of achievements related to the conclusion of pacific and CHINA kickoff, it is possible that one of the departing teams may be interested in joining Zest to achieve better results in the future.
