xand leaves FURIA for an indefinite period

On September 14, xand, a player for the Brazilian esports team FURIA, announced his departure from the team via the social media platform Threads. He mentioned that he plans to take a break and return to the esports scene after some rest.

I will share more about the current situation soon. For now, I'm open to offers, but I haven't taken a vacation this year, so I plan to take some time off from the scene. I know I did well at FURIA, but the year-long break has affected my productivity. The team has grown significantly, and after a short rest, I will be back to giving my all as a duelist/flex player. Thank you for your understanding.

xand Career Path

The 29-year-old xand began his professional CS career in 2010. After transitioning to CS in 2012, he played for South American teams such as INTZ, Furious, Keyd Stars, 9z Team, and Yeah Gaming, competing in international tournaments including ESL Pro League and DreamHack.

In 2020, xand transitioned to Valorant, competing for FURIA, NiP, KRÜ Esports, and 00Nation. He established himself as a versatile player, taking on roles from duelist to IGL. Last year, he helped 00Nation secure second place at VCL 2023 Brazil Split 2 and participated in the Ascension tournament as part of the Brazilian national team.

Return and Career Thoughts

However, in December of last year, xand announced his departure from the competitive Valorant scene, expressing concerns about the state of the Tier 2 scene and dissatisfaction with the Brazilian esports environment.

In April 2024, he joined the streaming division of FUT Esports in Turkey but returned as a player for FURIA in May. At VCT AMERICAS 2024 Stage 2, he showed strong performances, securing victories over 100 Thieves, LOUD, and MIBR with a record of 3 wins and 2 losses.

However, this result was not enough to continue his career, and xand has now announced his intention to take a break.
