VCT 2024: Masters Shanghai fails to surpass the record of the previous event, Masters Madrid

The second major tournament of this year, VCT 2024: Masters Shanghai, has recently concluded, making it time to summarize the major event. The well-known portal Esports Charts has calculated the overall statistics of the event and revealed that it did not surpass the first Masters of 2024, which took place in Madrid.

Esports Charts, a portal known for gathering and publishing statistics for major tournaments across various disciplines, recently shared information about Masters Shanghai. It was revealed that the second major Valorant event showed worse viewership results compared to its predecessor, Masters Madrid.

In their official account, representatives of Esports Charts reported that due to an unusual schedule and the absence of fans from certain teams, Masters Shanghai garnered fewer viewers and total viewing hours. It was disclosed that at the last tournament in China, the peak viewership was 914,131, while Masters Madrid, at the peak of its popularity, was watched by 1,687,848 viewers. Additionally, the total number of viewing hours for the Chinese tournament was almost 10 million less than that of the Spanish event.

Note that despite this, Masters Shanghai remains the record holder for the highest viewership among Korean viewers throughout the history of Valorant.
