Valorant 9.0 Update now available - Patch notes, changes, and announcement of Episode 9 release

Last night, Riot Games released the major update 9.0 for Valorant. This patch included nerfs to the Chinese duelist Iso, added the new map Abyss into the competitive rotation, and prepared the game for the upcoming release of Episode 9.

Agent Changes

ISO in PC version

  • Double Tap (E): Duration reduced from 20 seconds to 12 seconds, and elimination of charge recovery on kills.

Sova in the console version

  • Increased Owl Drone's health from 60 HP to 100 HP.

General Changes

In the competitive rotation of the PC version of Valorant, the map Abyss has been added, and the overall list now looks as follows: Abyss, Ascent, Bind, Haven, Sunset. Future updates will gradually add the rest of the maps. Additionally, the competitive mode has also debuted on the console version of Valorant with the same map rotation. Consoles have also added a new "Control Presets" mode. With this, you can perfectly adjust Valorant to be comfortable and convenient.

A new "Control Presets" selection screen has been added during the initial loading before loading the tutorial. Now you can choose between our special VALORANT control settings or more traditional FPS settings on the console as the initial control scheme. You can easily change presets and adjust controls at any time in the game through the settings menu.

Refined sound transitions between Focus and ADS to better reflect the aiming state you are transitioning into.

Updated crosshair presets to reflect better crosshair diversity.

Updated fighter control settings so that Crouch is hold-based, not toggle.

Added an integral aiming sensitivity slider.

Additionally, Riot Games have promised to better combat toxic players in chat, who will now receive more severe punishments after several offenses. Read more about all the changes in the 9.0 update on the official Valorant website.
