Riot Games introduced the updated Breeze map, which was sent for revision 8 months ago, following the release of patch 6.0. The developers also shared information about the map pool that will change after Episode 7 Act 2.
Updated Breeze Map
Both Breeze and Bind were removed from the competitive map pool 8 months ago for a revamp. Bind has long since returned to the map pool, and now it's Breeze's turn, which underwent significant changes. Riot Games developers shared screenshots of these changes.
Mid
The Mid position experienced the most significant changes, with more covers, corners added, and the playing space reduced. The updated position now looks more appealing for the defending side, making it easier to control, while the attacking side will have a harder time capturing it.
B Site
Changes at B site modified the side and rear. Such changes will facilitate entry for the attacking side, as they can only be met from open positions and deep in the plant.
Hall
The Hall position was decided to be completely closed, so the exit to A site will only be possible through Mid and Cave.
Cave
Cave underwent drastic changes; now, entry is only possible from one place with additional corners, making it easier for the defend side to control.
A Site
A Site saw the least changes; only two pyramids were altered, with increased height so that agents like Jett, Chamber, and Omen can't reach their peak.
Map pool changes with the launch of the next act
The competitive map pool will undergo changes with the start of the new act, removing maps such as Fracture and Pearl for revamping, but bringing back Breeze and adding a new map, which is rumored to be revealed during the VALORANT Champions 2023 grand finals.
