UCAM Esports signs finnish player polvi to its VALORANT roster

On November 26, UCAM Esports, a Spanish esports team, announced the signing of Finnish duelist Niko "polvi" Polvinen to its VALORANT roster. After playing in the Pacific League, Polvi will now join the team, which will compete in the Spanish Challenger League.

Polvi, 24, began his VALORANT career in 2020, playing for amateur teams such as VISU Gaming and Tarren Mill. In 2021, he joined TENSTAR, with which he achieved 4th place at VCT 2021 EU Stage 3 and Red Bull Home Ground 2021, establishing himself on the European scene.

In April 2022, he moved to MAD Lions, where he became a finalist at VRL 2022 France Revolution Stage 2, but his contract ended after five months. Polvi then continued his career with teams like Human Tripwires, OnlyFins, and Valiant, winning VCL 2023 BEACON Open Split 2 and VCL France Revolution Coupe De France 2023.

In October 2023, Polvi was recognized for his previous achievements and signed with Global Esports in the Pacific League. With the team, he secured victories over DetonatioN FocusMe, Bleed Esports, and Rex Regum Qeon but failed to qualify for international tournaments, finishing 9th at VCT PACIFIC 2024 KICK-OFF and 8th at Stage 1.

Polvi is known for his skill in playing aggressive duelists like Jett and Raze. He has played over 200 matches as Jett with a K/D of 1.17, as Raze with 1.15, and as Reyna with 1.27. In April 2023, he gained public attention for continuing to compete in a tournament despite being hospitalized.

The UCAM Esports roster with polvi is as follows:

  • Fabian "Quick" Gomez
  • Karel "Flickless" Maeckelbergh
  • Eloy "YuNo" Burgueño
  • Maximilian "bucher" Bucher
  • Niko "Polvi" Polvinen
  • Manuel "thinkii" Martínez (head coach)
