Since the beginning of 2024, Riot Games has released two skin sets, but despite the fact that they were well received by the Valorant community, not everything turned out perfectly. After the release of the XERØFANG set yesterday, players were outraged that the animation of the new knife is almost identical to that of the Kuronami set.
It is worth mentioning that the first set of 2024 was Kuronami, featuring a unique melee weapon skin. Just months after its release, Riot Games announced the new XERØFANG set, which appeared in the game client last night. The uniqueness of the latest set is that it includes skins for only three types of weapons: Vandal, Ghost, and also a knife. You can read more about the set in our material. After the set appeared in the game and became available for purchase, players who bought it noticed interesting details. The thing is, the XERØFANG Knife skin, which costs 4,350VP, has almost identical animation to the knife from the Kuronami set.

The first to notice the similarity was a user with the nickname Oqura. In his Twitter account, he posted a video showing the identical animation of both knives. After that, the Valorant community was divided in its opinion. One part takes this quite positively, jokingly commenting that it looks like a school situation where your friend lets you copy homework, and you just did a 1v1 copy like his. The other part, however, expressed outrage at such similarity. In their opinion, collections, one of which has an Exclusive rarity and costs 9,500VP, and the other being Premium with a price of 6,355VP, should not have anything in common.
It is still unknown whether Riot Games will respond to such accusations, but one thing is known: they will not be changing the animation of one of the knives. We will wait for official comments from the developer company.
