"There were so many tournaments that there was always a chance" - FNS highlights advantages of CS over Valorant

Recently, professional player Pujan "FNS" Mehta, who previously gained popularity in the world of CS:GO, shared his impressions of the esports scene in Valorant, comparing both games.

Former NRG member and prominent figure in the world of esports, Pujan "FNS" Mehta, shared his insights on the professional Valorant scene, comparing it to his previous experience in CS. He identified a major shortcoming - the absence of third-party tournaments.

The great thing about CS was that you weren't at the mercy of a company. Since there were third party tournaments, you could form a team and participate in the tournament you wanted. There were so many tournaments that you always had a chance. I wish we could do this in VALORANT.

The player expresses frustration that in Valorant, your fate is determined by Riot Games and the organization. If you haven't interested a team from the franchised league or haven't passed the trials, you won't have the opportunity to demonstrate your skills at the tier-1 level and in international tournaments throughout the year. In CS, on the other hand, a team and player of any level are given more than one opportunity to present themselves and there is a large number of third-party tournaments.

Not only Pujan "FNS" Mehta voices frustration with Valorant's tournament ecosystem. Other well-known personalities and players also call for Riot Games to reconsider their approach to esports. Tier-2 and tier-3 level teams struggle for a single slot in the franchise throughout the year, and during this period, they don't have the opportunity to present themselves on the international stage.
