The console version of Valorant was released a few months ago, and since then, players have noticed little difference in content compared to the PC version. However, over time, players have begun to wonder about the status of the Champions Collections and their availability in the console version of the game.
What are the players requesting?
The community of players using the console version of the game has started asking on various forums whether they will have the opportunity to purchase the Champions skin collections. As a reminder, for every Valorant Champions event, the company releases a limited collection of skins. These include melee weapon skins, as well as skins for either the Vandal or Phantom. The collection is time-limited, and once the championship is over, it is no longer possible to purchase it.
Since the console version of the game was only released in 2024, players on XBOX or PS5 do not have the option to buy the Champions Collections from 2021, 2022, and 2023, which is a point they are now raising with the developers.
What could Riot offer?
Fixing this situation is relatively simple, and the company could do something similar to what they did when Valorant launched in China. Officially, the game was only released in the Chinese region in 2023, so players there didn’t have the chance to buy Champions skins. As a result, Riot Games offered Chinese players a unique opportunity to purchase Champions collections and other limited-time skin bundles for a certain period. This allowed players to acquire their favorite sets while the company earned additional revenue, leaving everyone satisfied. A similar solution could be applied for console players.
It is still unknown when, or if, Riot Games will respond to the requests from console players. For now, players on XBOX and PS5 can only wait for the company’s response.
