The eighth episode of Valorant, set to begin on January 10, will bring a series of significant changes, including map rotations. However, not all players are pleased with these implementations.
On January 2, the developer announced the introduction of a new map rotation to the game. At the beginning of 2024, the map pool will include Icebox, Lotus, Sunset, Breeze, Ascent, Bind, and Split, with changes affecting both Icebox and Lotus.
One of the most notable changes is the return of Icebox to the game mode. This map was removed from the rotation in April 2023 due to balance issues. However, recent leaks suggest that Riot Games has made several adjustments to address these problems. Haven will take Icebox's place, being available in casual modes like Team Deathmatch.
The Valorant community, on the whole, welcomes the changes in map rotation. Many players believe that Icebox is a good map deserving of a comeback. However, some express concerns that the changes to Icebox may not completely resolve the balance issues that led to its removal.

In addition to map rotation, the eighth episode will also bring changes to the Lotus map. Details are yet to be revealed, but rumors suggest that the changes aim to improve the map's balance.
