"Thank you to all friends and fans" - L1NK ends his successful four-year career in Valorant

Yesterday brought incredibly sad news for all fans of the British Valorant scene. Notable professional player Travis "L1NK" Mendoza announced that after four successful years of competition, he is ending his esports career in Riot Games' shooter.

Travis announced his decision in a two-minute video posted on his official Twitter account and other social networks. In it, L1NK explains the reasons behind his decision, thanks all his fans, and his teammates from every team he has been part of. Additionally, the professional talks about his future plans, in which he will continually be in the public eye of his fans.

Travis "L1NK" Mendoza is a 25-year-old British professional player. He began his journey in the discipline in mid-2020 with the team Fish123. This lesser-known collective was one of the best in Europe at the inception of the professional Valorant scene. In just a year and a half, the players won 7 tournaments, attracting the attention of Team Liquid, which then acquired the entire lineup. With them, L1NK spent nearly two years, during which time he placed fourth at VCT 2021: Stage 2 Masters - Reykjavík, was a winner at the offseason Red Bull Home Ground #2, and secured 3-4th place at the first VALORANT Champions 2021.

Towards the end of the video, Travis discussed his future plans. The professional revealed that he plans to become a streamer and will regularly host live streams. This means that even without performances on the professional Valorant stage, his fans can continue to follow the former esports athlete.
