On his Twitter page, Ian "Tex" Botsch announced that he will no longer be playing with his former partners from The Guard team, with whom they won the VCL Ascension: Americas 2023 tournament. He also revealed his plans for the future.
My time with The Guard team has come to an end & for 2024 I will be looking for a new team under the Duelist / Sentinel role. (for any region)

After we won Acension I can safely say I can elevate any teams gameplay & help provide the structure needed for a winning formula.

The Guard team formed 2-3 months before the start of the American Challengers league. Ian "Tex" Botsch was no exception, he signed a contract on January 19, just like three other players. Their first test was the Ludwig x Tarik Invitational, where they defeated three teams from the top division of the American league and won $30,000 for the team. This greatly boosted their confidence, leading to incredible results. The Guard took second place in both parts of the Challengers league and qualified for VCL Ascension: Americas 2023, where they secured a spot in the VCT Americas League for two years.
However, the team will not be able to compete there. The club did not meet Riot Games' requirements and failed to provide the necessary documentation in time. The Guard terminated all contracts with the roster, including the manager. The creators of Valorant gave the players the opportunity to find a new organization to participate in the league.
One of the possible reasons why the player left his teammates could be that the player and the new organization did not agree on favorable terms for both parties. Also possible, after receiving the terrible news about the potential inability to participate in the league, he found a team from the top league. But officially the player reported that he is actively looking for a new team for the next season and is ready to change the region.
