Team Heretics closed out Group Alpha of VCT 2025: EMEA Stage 2 with a win over GIANTX, while Team Vitality kept their playoff chances alive by defeating Gentle Mates in the group stage.

Team Heretics vs GIANTX

Team Heretics cruised past GIANTX with a dominant 2:0 victory (Ascent 13:7, Haven 13:3). This marked TH’s fifth group-stage win, securing them first place in Group Alpha and a direct spot in the upper bracket semifinals. GIANTX, now sitting at 3:2 in the group, are guaranteed a place in the first round of the next stage.

Team Vitality vs Gentle Mates

Team Vitality came close to losing their playoff hopes, but a 2:1 win over Gentle Mates (Corrode 13:4, Lotus 9:13, Ascent 13:10) kept them in contention. Their fate now depends on the August 15 clash between BBL Esports and FUT Esports — if the latter lose, Vitality will claim the fourth playoff spot from Group Alpha. Gentle Mates finish the group stage with a 0:5 record, exiting not only the tournament but also permanently losing their VCT slot.

Despite the loss, the best player for GM was ComeBack, a young Turkish talent, who recorded 54 kills in the duelist role. His ADR stood at 150, with an ACS of 244.
