Sylvan joins T1

The Korean team T1 has undergone significant changes in its Valorant roster since the start of the 2024 off-season. After parting ways with several players, the team began adding new members, and it was announced yesterday that the young player Ko "Sylvan" Young-sub will also represent the club in the upcoming season.

Many of the changes were prompted by the team's performance during 2023, which didn't yield many notable achievements. Throughout the season, T1 only attended one international tournament, the VCT 2024: Masters Shanghai, where they finished in 11th-12th place. The team fared better in regional competitions, securing 3rd place at the VCT 2024: Pacific Stage 1 and 7th place at the VCT 2024: Pacific Stage 2, but these results did not have much impact. As a result, the team earned just $15,000 in prize money for the year, which is a very small amount for a tier-1 organization of this caliber. At the end of the season, the team underwent major changes, with two players and two coaches leaving. You can find more details about the roster changes at T1, as well as other teams in the Pacific region, in our material.

Ko "Sylvan" Young-sub is a 23-year-old Korean player who has been competing in the professional Valorant scene for four years. Throughout his career, he has played for several teams, but the most notable was Gen.G Esports, where he played from March to October 2023. During this time, he helped the team in several events, with his biggest contribution being in the VCT 2023: Pacific League, where the team finished in 4th place.

After these roster changes, T1's lineup now consists of five players, meaning the team is almost ready for the new competitive season. To comply with the rules, the team needs to find only one substitute player, so we can expect to hear about the sixth player soon.
