The Japanese esports team SCARZ announced on October 25 that they will not participate in the third split of the VALORANT Challengers 2024 Japan Championship. This decision was made to allow the team to reassess its internal structure and focus on enhancing its competitive performance in national tournaments.
The 2024 season has been challenging for SCARZ: the team placed 7th in VCJ 2024 Split 1 and 5th-6th in Split 2, falling short of expectations. A recent disappointing result at the Red Bull Home Ground tournament also contributed to the need for changes within the team. In an official statement, SCARZ emphasized that their top priority now is to strengthen their competitiveness in domestic competitions and prepare for the 2025 season. The team plans to skip Split 3 to concentrate on long-term development.
