Sacy: Geographical distance from family creates a "mental difference" for Brazilian players

Renowned Valorant player Gustavo "Sacy" Rossi, formerly of the LOUD team, joined Sentinels in 2022, earning well-deserved recognition as one of the world's best players. His talent was recognized towards the end of the season, leading to his joining Sentinels. At VCT Americas 2023 and in early 2024, he continued to compete with this team.

In an interview with journalist Lucas Bauth, Sacy emphasized the influence of international experience on his mental adjustment, especially for Brazilian athletes facing a "mental difference" due to geographical separation.

The emergence of VCT Americas led to changes in the competitive structure in Valorant. Brazilian and Latin American teams were forced to relocate to the USA to participate in major regional tournaments, affecting both the logistics of organizations and players who left their home countries to compete in North America.

Sacy expressed his opinion on the "mental difference" between them and Americans, noting that the latter prefer to spend time at home with family, while his family is in Brazil. He acknowledged that he constantly feels homesick, but remembers that he is here precisely because of them. In his view, this difference will exist regardless of how much time he spends in Los Angeles, and he is confident that similar feelings are common among others.

In the same interview, he shared his thoughts on the strong teams at the VCT Americas 2024 Kickoff, naming Sentinels, LOUD, Leviatán, and NRG Esports as contenders for victory in the tournament.
