Riot Games to fix stealth changes to Neon in patch 10.03

Riot Games released patch 10.01 for VALORANT, introducing the Rank Shield system to prevent rank demotions and fixing bugs for the new agent "Tejo." However, players discovered that the agent Neon underwent hidden changes not mentioned in the official patch notes.

Specifically, players noticed that Neon's acceleration resets after sliding, and the behavior of her double slide was altered. A VALORANT developer, known as Penguin, addressed the issue on the social platform X:

These changes are not intentional balance adjustments.

The next day, the developers confirmed they had identified a fix but stated that resolving the issue via a hotfix was not possible. Neon's slide will be repaired in patch 10.03, expected to release in about a month.

For context, Neon is a high-mobility duelist whose abilities include dashes, slides, and an ultimate that shoots electric charges. After receiving significant buffs in patch 8.11 in June last year, her abilities were criticized by the community as overpowered.

Later that year, with the release of patch 9.11, Neon’s abilities were nerfed: her ultimate duration was reduced, its cost increased, the number of slides decreased from two to one, and slide accuracy was downgraded.

The current bugs will be addressed in patch 10.03.
