On October 20, Riot Games unveiled details of the upcoming 2024 Challengers League season. In addition to announcing the dates and future events, updates were introduced aimed at supporting the development of young players and improving the Valorant game scene as a whole.
The season will begin in January with open qualifiers for the Challengers League, though some teams that participated in the previous season will receive direct invitations. After the first stage is completed, there will be a tournament between the best teams from Premier and the worst from Challengers, the result of which will determine the new list of participants for the second stage. Now, the Challengers League operates all year round, providing players with more opportunities to gain experience and make their way to the highest league.
Ascension tournaments will be held in September, and the 2025 Challengers League season will start directly after their conclusion in October.
In addition to the roadmap, the company shared three innovations that will support the development of young players and the Valorant esports scene as a whole.
