Riot Games makes changes to VCT 2025: Pacific Kickoff during the tournament

Riot Games has officially adjusted the tournament bracket for VCT 2025: Pacific Kickoff mid-competition to enhance the competitive experience for participating teams. To mitigate any backlash, fans have been offered refunds for their tickets.

On January 20, the official VCT Pacific social media account released a statement from the regional division, announcing adjustments to matches 17 and 18 of the VCT 2025: Pacific Kickoff bracket. The decision aims to improve the competitive experience by preventing an early rematch between teams in the lower bracket.

According to the previous bracket, T1 and BOOM Esports could potentially face each other again in the lower bracket semifinals, provided T1 loses their next upper bracket semifinal match and BOOM Esports wins all their upcoming matches. To address this issue, Riot Games decided that the losing team in the T1 vs. Talon/Global Esports match would move to match 18 instead of match 17.

Recognizing the impact of these changes on fans, Riot Games has opted to refund tickets for that game day, allowing spectators to attend the matches free of charge.
