Yesterday, Riot Games rolled out an update to the Riot Vanguard anti-cheat system aimed at enhancing Valorant's protection. Despite this, the company states that the ban issuance system is stable, and this update is not related to any vulnerabilities.
On the official Valorant page, reports confirming the continuous operation of the anti-cheat system are presented. According to information published by the developer, over 35,000 bans were issued in October of the current year. When compared to data previously disclosed by Riot, the number of bans has significantly decreased.
Developers also claim that the anti-cheat will be integrated into the VAN:RESTRICTION system, which will include additional security measures for players deemed vulnerable to hacking. In addition to combating cheaters within the game, Riot is also fighting outside the servers.
The organization has expressed concern about new cheating methods that are increasingly emerging on the network. One of the latest causing the company a lot of trouble is DMA, where cheaters use hardware devices to attempt to bypass Vanguard.
To counter this practice, the developer stated that they have implemented technology they consider "industry-leading" to prevent these devices from operating in Valorant. Furthermore, Riot is taking additional measures to ensure that their security measures are applied where it is most crucial.
