The competitive season in the professional Valorant scene has officially started, and Riot Games is preparing the community for the upcoming tournaments. Recently, the game developers shared how the VCT 2024 will be conducted and what events the esports athletes can expect in the near future.
On their official Valorant YouTube channel, the company published a video titled "Format Explained." It provides detailed information about the tournaments that will take place during 2024. The company also emphasized the Chinese region CN, which has officially joined other regions in the competitive scene. The region has received 11 official partner teams and a Kick OFF tournament, where participants for the first Masters of this year, to be held in Madrid, are determined.
The first thing the developers revealed is the Kick OFF series tournaments. There will be 4 of them in each region. They will be participated by 11 partner teams, competing for two slots in the upcoming Masters. In addition to an invitation to the future tournament, the winners of the Kick OFF events will receive 3 champions points each, which are necessary for qualifying for the world championship.

After Kick OFF, the first major tournament of 2024, Masters Madrid, will begin. It will feature 8 teams, with 2 from each region. The prize pool of the tournament is not yet known, but considering last year, it can be assumed to be no less than $1,000,000.
After Masters Madrid, the first stage of the regional leagues will begin, in which teams will also compete for places in the next Masters Shanghai. After the last one finishes, the second stage of the regional leagues will begin, in which 4 teams from each region will receive invitations to Valorant Champions.
