Rio moves to Orangutan's inactive roster and begins search for a new team

The Indian team Orangutan introduced a revamped Valorant roster at the beginning of 2024, but within six months, the team faced its first changes. After parting ways with main roster member Rucifix, it was announced yesterday that another player, Atharv "Rio" Ahire, is preparing to leave the team.

Atharv himself announced this decision on his official social media. The player stated that the club management has given him permission to look for new opportunities ahead of the upcoming VCL 24/25 events, so he is starting his search for a new team. The Indian professional is ready to move to another region and try himself in a different position, although he prefers the initiator role.

Atharv "Rio" Ahire joined the team at the beginning of 2024 when the organization introduced the revamped Valorant roster. Although the first tournaments ended with the team placing 6th-7th, the most recent tournament, VALORANT Challengers 2024: South Asia Split 2, brought the players third place and an invitation to the next stage. Overall, the player's performance can be considered positive, so it is unclear why both parties decided to end the cooperation.

It is currently unknown where Rio plans to go, but considering that the third stage of the South Asia competitions starts in two months, the player has enough time to find a new home and integrate into a new team.
