Information about the bankruptcy of Promod, an organizer of Valorant tournaments in Northern Europe, was disclosed by The Esports Advocate. In its report, the publication revealed facts and circumstances of this situation. Following this, Riot Games responded and made a corresponding announcement.
According to The Esports Advocate, the tournament operator Promod failed to fulfill its financial obligations to participants and staff of VCL Northern Europe: Polaris Split 2 2023, as well as commentators for the Beacon Finals. Employees announced their own layoffs on their social networks. Riot Games quickly reacted to this information and made a corresponding announcement.
Sources from The Esports Advocate claim that Riot Games is already looking for a new tournament organizer for Northern Europe for 2024. Regarding the official announcement, there has only been a statement about the termination of the partnership with Promod so far.
