Oxygen Esports clinches easy victory in Sean Gares Showdown grand final

The Sean Gares Showdown, a Valorant off-season tournament, recently concluded. The American team, Oxygen Esports, which dominated the event throughout, deservedly claimed the championship title.

Like most off-season tournaments, the Sean Gares Showdown aimed to allow teams to try out new strategies and test players ahead of the upcoming season. Additionally, such events usually feature attractive cash prizes, and this time the biggest sum went to Oxygen Esports. The team, after receiving a direct invitation, began a winning streak, defeating We Overcooked 2-0, QoR 2-0, and OREsports 2-0. The victory over the latter earned them a spot in the tournament's grand final.

In the final match, the club faced the strong opponents Moist x Shopify, who also secured three easy wins to reach the final stage. The first map, Split, started with an even fight, but after switching sides, Moist x Shopify confidently outpaced their opponents by 4 rounds, securing a 13-9 win. On the second map, Bind, the team again dominated the first half, but after the sides changed, Oxygen Esports took 9 rounds, earning a victory with the same score of 13-9. The final map was Breeze, where the tournament favorites completely overwhelmed their opponents with a double advantage of 13-6, thus clinching the tournament victory.

It should be noted that the Sean Gares Showdown took place from December 8th to 11th in an online format. Sixteen Tier-2 teams from the American region competed for a total prize pool of $15,000 and the champion's title.
