New roster and ambitions of Evil Geniuses for the 2025 season
New roster and ambitions of Evil Geniuses for the 2025 season

Last December, Evil Geniuses bolstered their lineup with two new players — yay and icy. In an interview with Insider Gaming, the team’s head coach, potter, shared plans for the 2025 season and revealed key decisions that influenced the team’s roster.

Why icy and not sym?

At the SEN City Classic tournament, the team competed with sym, but in the finalized roster, his spot was given to icy. According to potter, the team initially planned to enter the 2025 season with the same roster that competed in the tournament. However, it soon became clear that sym had several issues that could hinder the team’s development.

Sym was an incredibly talented player and a great teammate, but it was crucial to create a comfortable environment for yay to adapt to his new role. Every member of the roster had to fulfill their specific tasks, and ultimately, icy became the best choice for our team.

Stability: The Key to Success

Evil Geniuses has already demonstrated the importance of maintaining roster stability. During the 2022–2023 season, the team achieved success by minimizing changes between seasons.

In 2023, we laid a solid foundation, and now we’re confident in our abilities. Despite losing jawgemo, we’re able to move forward thanks to the work we accomplished last year.

yay and icy: Expectations for the New Additions

The team’s new players, yay and icy, play a central role in their plans for the season. Yay, previously renowned as a Chamber specialist, is now training for the Sentinel role.

It’s important for him to prove that he isn’t limited to just one role. We see his incredible potential, although he can sometimes lean towards being overly aggressive.
the coach said

Icy, on the other hand, is known for his team-oriented playstyle. "He’s a smart, selfless duelist willing to take risks for the team. His main goal this season is to achieve consistency and improve his physical condition" potter added.

Why Did potter Stay with Evil Geniuses?

Despite receiving multiple offers from other organizations, including negotiations with NRG, potter decided to stay with Evil Geniuses. According to him, he preferred to continue working with the current roster, which had already shown cohesion and potential.

I believe in these players. Our roster has been carefully assembled, and I’m confident that yay will help the team reach new heights, just as Ethan and Demon1 did in 2023. I’m looking forward to seeing our team perform this season.

Evil Geniuses is gearing up to showcase their new roster and compete for top results in the 2025 season.
