The European qualifiers for Masters Bangkok continue, but not every team can compete for the two invitations to the upcoming event. Yesterday, two matches took place as part of the first round of the lower bracket, and we'll share their results below.
Karmine Corp vs. GIANTX
The first clash featured a showdown between Karmine Corp and GIANTX, two of the less successful teams in the European region. Despite this, the elimination match turned out to be quite exciting. On the first map, Bind, the teams pushed the game into overtime, with Karmine Corp securing a hard-fought victory. However, on the next two maps, GIANTX, though not without struggles, managed to defeat their opponents in regulation time, clinching a 2-1 victory in the series.
NAVI vs. Fnatic
The second match brought a face-off between two well-known European teams, NAVI and Fnatic. Ahead of the season, both teams underwent significant roster changes in Valorant, making this matchup particularly intriguing. Despite their massive fanbase and reputation as one of the most renowned organizations, Ukrainian team Natus Vincere once again fell short, losing two matches and exiting the event. After three intense maps, Fnatic secured a 2-1 victory, staying in the tournament.
As a result of these matches, Fnatic and GIANTX advance to the second round of the lower bracket, where they will await their next opponents. Meanwhile, NAVI and Karmine Corp leave the tournament in 9th-12th place, missing their chance to qualify for Masters Bangkok and earning no prize points.
The VCT 2025: EMEA Kickoff runs from January 15 to February 9 in a LAN format at the Riot Games arena. Twelve partner teams from the VCT program are competing for two invitations to Masters Bangkok and critical EMEA Points needed for qualification to the World Championship.
