Today, the Spanish esports organization Movistar Riders announced the dissolution of its current Valorant squad. Three active players officially leave the team, while the rest are allowed to look for new offers.
After the end of the current competitive season, rumors surfaced about the possible disbanding of the team, but no official statements were made. The final point in the team's history was an unsuccessful performance during the off-season, after which the organization released an official statement. In it, the club's management reports that Eloy “YuNo” García, Tomás “Vorwenn” and Miquel “Blastinho” Llombart are no longer part of the team, and other members may begin searching for new homes.
From Movistar Riders, we inform you that as of today, YuNo, Vorwenn, Blastinho, will no longer be part of the club. The organization wishes them all the best for the future, and we hope to meet again on the server. On the other hand, the rest of the team members are still under contract, but from today, you may listen to offers from other organizations.
Interestingly, just like the organization, the former players commented on their departure quite dryly, without much emotion or disappointment. This cannot be said for the fans of the club, who, in the comments to the statement, are saddened by such news because the future of the players and the club itself remains unknown.
The end of something very beautiful :( It's a pity that my favorite Spanish team ceases to exist today.
Remember that Movistar Riders formed their new roster at the end of 2022, but radical changes did not help the team reach new heights. The collective failed both stages of VALORANT Challengers 2023 Spain: Rising Split, as a result, did not make it to the contenders league, and lost the opportunity to fight for the partnership program. After that, the club began to perform at various events in the off-season, but here too did not achieve significant success: 13-16th place at LVP - Crossfire Cup 2023: Contenders, and later 5-8th place at the next stage of the tournament.
As we wrote above, three players have only confirmed their departure from the team but did not share their future plans. In turn, the organization also does not reveal whether the roster will be formed again, or if the Spaniards will completely leave the discipline. We are waiting for official comments from the representatives of Movistar Riders.
