Alongside Valorant Champions 2024, which is currently the talk of the town, women's teams continue to battle for spots in their own championship. Yesterday, the second stage of VCT 2024: Game Changers Brazil concluded, with the women's team MIBR GC emerging as the champion, dominating throughout the tournament.
How the women's Game Changers league works
The competition in the women's Game Changers league is similar to the Tier-2 Challengers scene. Throughout the season, there are three stages of competition: Series 1, 2, and 3. To enter Series 1, teams must pass through qualifications and earn enough points in their region. After that, the regular season begins, where participants compete for points and prize money across all three stages. After Series 3 concludes, the teams that have accumulated the most points from each region receive invitations to the VALORANT Champions Tour 2024: Game Changers Championship.
MIBR GC's cictory at VCT 2024: Game Changers Brazil Series 2
MIBR GC performed brilliantly throughout the tournament, reaching the grand final without losing a single map. After victories over Team Leveling with a score of 2-0, LOUD GC with a score of 2-0, and Team Liquid Brazil with a score of 2-0, the team advanced to the grand final, where they faced LOUD GC once again. Despite losing the first match, the team confidently took revenge, and the clash extended to all five maps. After an intense battle, MIBR GC won 3-2 and became the champion of the second stage of VCT 2024: Game Changers Brazil.
Thanks to their victory, the team earned $4,500 in prize money, 80 BR Points, and a direct invitation to the third stage. It should be noted that as of today, MIBR GC has 130 points and holds first place in their region's standings. This means that the team is currently the top contender to represent the Brazilian region in the world championship.
There is no information yet on when the third stage of VCT 2024: Game Changers Brazil will begin, but considering that the women's world championship will start in early November, it can be assumed that the next stage of the competition will take place in October.
